Description

The design is based on the vision of the initiators, Genmab and Merus, who seek to improve patients' lives by developing innovative cancer therapies, partly through valuable collaborations.

The Accelerator offers extensive spaces dedicated to meetings and collaborations, including the auditorium, meeting rooms, and the large restaurant. These spaces are integrated into the transparent and dynamic base of the building. This base features a spectacular atrium where circulation zones and informal consultation areas are located, ensuring constant activity and encouraging spontaneous encounters.

This 22,000 m² building, spread over 12 floors, was designed with a high sustainability ambition, achieving BREEAM Excellent certification. The design is highly flexible and focuses on creating a pleasant and healthy work environment.

On behalf of the main contractor, BAM Bouw en Techniek, we installed 7,620 m² of Hueck unitized facades and 876 m² of Schüco curtain walls, allowing abundant natural light, thus contributing to a healthy and pleasant work environment.

The advantage of unitized facades lies in their fully prefabricated construction, enabling quick installation on the building. In addition to the high speed of construction and superior quality of the elements produced in controlled conditions, these facades offer high resistance, up to 1000 Pa.

The construction process is also much more efficient, with less on-site work and no need for scaffolding. Aesthetically, the facade can be tailored to the architect's wishes, making it the ideal choice for the Accelerator.

To filter sunlight, Gevex Professional Sun Protection installed both interior sun protection (Luxaflex) and exterior sun protection (zip screens).

The adjacent Genmab building, where we also installed the facades, is directly connected to the Accelerator via a skybridge.
