Sustainability expertise
Building a sustainable future with environmentally friendly façades.
Our low-carbon commitment is reflected in the expertise shared within our alliance, with a focus on analysing the life cycle of facades and the development of low-carbon alternatives.
Evaluating impact through life cycle assessments (LCAs)
Life cycle assessments are at the heart of our low-carbon strategy.
They provide a comprehensive assessment of the environmental impact of each project.
The LCA covers all aspects of the project: materials, production, transport, installation, service life and recycling.
We identify areas for improvement and suggest specific solutions to reduce the overall carbon footprint.
FDES documents
In France, FDES documents provide key information on the environmental and health performance of construction components. Weclad has set up a system that automatically produces FDES documents for every project in France.
This tool automates and standardises the assessment of environmental impact in line with French environmental requirements.
Environmental Product Declarations (EPD)
In the future, this system will also produce EPDs for projects in the UK, Luxembourg and Belgium.
These environmental declarations will ensure full transparency of the environmental impact of our solutions in these countries.
Systematic low-carbon approach for every project
We are committed to incorporating low-carbon alternatives into every commercial proposal.
By 2023, 70% of WECLAD's proposals already included low-carbon alternatives.
To achieve this goal, we identify and implement materials and techniques that improve the carbon footprint of each project, while maintaining optimum performance.
Low Carbon Materials
We choose renewable solutions, as well as other innovative materials with low environmental impact.
Recycling and reuse
We recycle glass and aluminium panels and encourage the reuse of existing cladding wherever possible.
Using fewer materials and optimising resources
Our design teams and structural engineers work together to optimise the use of materials, minimise waste and make the most of every resource.
Techniwood is a prime example, with its low scrap rate and maximum recovery of wood elements, highlighting our commitment to reducing environmental impact while guaranteeing high-quality results.
Energy performance of Weclad façades
Façades designed by Weclad, such as Panobloc®, offer energy performance that goes beyond current standards.
Our solutions not only reduce the carbon footprint at the manufacturing stage, but also deliver significant energy savings throughout the life of the building.
A low-carbon strategy in line with the Léon Grosse Group's ambitious objectives
Weclad is pursuing clear decarbonisation objectives for 2025: to reduce our own carbon emissions and deliver a reduced environmental impact on all our projects.
0 %
reduction in our internal carbon emissions (TEQ CO2/M€ turnover) by 2025 compared with 2022
